Meeting of Aerial Perspective Method with the Inside the Spirit
Artist Hun-jung Lee
My drawings of mountains, plains, trees, and country roads initially come from the work form of distorting and changing the view of nature at the point over existence as a means of realization according to my emotions and purpose. But the work of art is completed from the relationship of my inside or mind.
Sky of the work is in collusion with this idea. It is the representation of the mild and roaring lights. Lights of nearby colors and faraway sky are the symbolic language of Christianity, in case of myself, since it has a mutual connection with the religion. Faraway sky has mostly lighter tone, emphasizing it meanings compared with the darker tones of a short and medium range of views. Particularly, there is a strong contrast between dark of mountain back and light of the sky. This also contributes to the emphasis of lights of sky. Therefore, I am not really interested in the representation of detailed forms of objects in short and medium range of views.
My composition is not very diverse because there is no three-dimensional vision of an object. There is no detail, and it is rather to simple. Only sides of the object squeezed by the power of knife are proposed instead. This is because the final goal of my works are in the opening of one's world of spirit, more than an ordinary things.
I can definitely say that my aerial perspective work pieces have a supernatural power of beliefs managing our all five senses. I believe that a momentary intuition is closer to the instinct of art. It is possible to feel the fresh air when these interesting compositions, requiring changes in formation, harmonious balance, and tension, are represented as a coloring contrast while this aerial perspective method of moment does not lose its first feelings or presentations
